ISLAMABAD (APS) April 29, 2017-– In the recent development of Dawn Leaks probe, the government of Pakistan has ordered action against Daily Dawn, reporter Cyril Almeida and editor Zaffar Abbas.
In a notification issued by the government, role of Daily Dawn has been referred to All Pakistan Newspaper Society (APNS) for necessary disciplinary action as by the findings of the investigation committee.
Also, APNS has been asked to develop a code of conduct for print media in order to deal with issues regarding national security. It suggested that the news stories being published on national issues, especially security, should abide by journalistic ethics and editorial norms.
It must be mention here that the Pakistan Army had already rejected notification issued by the government with respect to the findings of Dawn Leaks committee, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
