ISLAMABAD:(APS)May 17, 2016-The National Assembly has been informed that operation Zarb-e-Azb has been continuing successfully.
Responding to a calling Attention notice, Advisor on foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said law and order situation has improved significantly, as a result of operation.
He pointed out that incidents of terrorism reduced to half in last year as compared to 2014. These will further decrease during the current year. Three resolutions were passed by the House today.
The first resolution moved by Tahira Aurangzeb urged the government for early completion of Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme for Federal Government Employees.
The second resolution moved by Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho stressed the government to take effective steps to improve maternal health facilities in Federal hospitals.
The House also passed a resolution urging the government to take immediate steps to control price-hike. Speaking on the resolution, Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan told the House that Government is taking concrete steps to control price-hike in the country.
He pointed out that Finance Minister chairs meetings of the committee on prices.
He said provincial governments have their own price committees after the 18th amendment. Rana Afzal said the provincial governments have been advised to take concrete measures to discourage artificial shortage of essential commodities during Ramadan.
He said inflation rate is at its historical low due to policies being pursued by the government.
Three bills were introduced in the National Assembly today.
The House will now meet tomorrow morning at 10:30.
